What is a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI)?

A Pre-Shipment Inspection is a systematic inspection of the product to be shipped selected at random from your order.

CMI adopts the methodology detailed in ISO 2859-1 statistical sampling procedure for our PSI

Sampling schemes designated in this part of ISO 2859 are applicable, but not limited, to inspection of

  • end items
  • components and raw materials
  • operations
  • materials in process
  • supplies in storage
  • maintenance operations
  • data or records

Why Get a Pre-Shipment Inspection?

A Pre-Shipment Inspection from an independent third party such as CMI gives you the peace of mind that your order has been filled successfully before it is dispatched.

CMI check to ensure that :

  1. The specifications you’ve agreed upon for your product have been met.
  2. CMI take steps on your behalf to Mitigate the risk of an improperly filled order by checking the order prior to it going into the container.
  3. Identifying defective goods and ensuring the factory either rectify the problem or issues a credit notice

What You receive

CMI will supply you with a detailed inspection report including photographic evidence of conformity or Non-Conformity.

In the case of non-conformance CMI will contact you to discuss the problems and, if necessary put a stop shipment order on the product until any non-conformance have been remedied.
